Feeding our souls

I am so excited when I visited Precept website this morning. Their doctrine is quite sound and I wanted to share with you good finds. You can listen to different topics and from different speakersWoodrow Kroll spoke on things that mega churches should take note of from Rev 2 - The church of Ephesus. JESUS commented this church for 7 good things they did. That's a lot! This message is also applicable both for the corporate church and for our own personal life. What happened when the church or when we allow sin or other things to little by little fill up and blurr our vision? Find out the 4 things that we can do to find success as a Church/Christian.

Check out http://www.oneplace.com/ministries/back-to-the-bible/listen/ephesus-the-successful-megachurch-121069.html to learn more.

As we are now in the last days, let's encourage one another to be rooted in GOD's Word so that when confronted by false doctrines, we know what GOD's Word says and can stand firm on our solid ROCK.
"My hope is built on nothing less
Than Jesus' blood and righteousness.
I dare not trust the sweetest frame,
But wholly lean on Jesus' Name.

Chorus:
On Christ the solid Rock I stand,
All other ground is sinking sand,
All other ground is sinking sand.

V2
When darkness seems to hide His face,
I rest on His unchanging grace.
In every high and stormy gale,
My anchor holds within the veil.

V3
His oath, His covenant, His blood,
Support me in the whelming flood.
When all around my soul gives way,
He then is all my hope and stay.

V4
When He shall come with trumpet sound,
Oh may I then in Him be found.
Dressed in His righteousness alone,
Faultless to stand before the throne

New Toy and more presents :)

This is my new toy which Peter bought me today. He wanted to buy me a dress watch as my birthday present but I chose a guitar instead :)
I have been wanting to learn how to play the guitar for the past few years but have been lazy and procrastinated. I learnt some basic chords during the past years but did not have the discipline to practice on Peter's guitar as the guitar neck was too broad for me. Now that I own a guitar of my own and with a neck that is narrower, more comfortable for my hand and fingers, I hope to be able to practice and play and sing praises to GOD :)
I pray that I will be disciplined enough to practice and to "jam" with Peter as and when possible. We did our first "jam" tonight and it was quite fun :)

Besides the guitar, I got this lovely necklace, custom-made, from Rebecca also as a birthday present today. Isn't it beautiful?

There's more... Peter also got me this pretty set of Misaki pearls from his last trip to Australia.
Wow, am overwhelmed with so many gifts. Am grateful and I thank GOD for them :)

A Pleasant Weekend

Last Sunday my family celebrated my 48th Birthday at Hai Tien Lo. This is a picture of the sunset at around 7.30pm which I managed to capture with my Sony handphone.

The view on the 37th Floor was breathtaking and we enjoyed some very fine Cantonese cuisine such as authentic shark fins with whole abalone, mini buddha jump over the wall, pan fried beef, etc. It was rather costly but Peter says I deserve more than this :)

Then, on Monday, my actual birthday, Annabel made me this lovely herb bread. The texture is very soft, very fragrant and even better than some of the bread I use to buy from the bakery shops!

I baked the above Apple Crips for the church staff that morning to brighten their day :)

Peter bought this Blackforest Cheesecake from Bakerin, Vivio City and my family sang me a birthday song before Renfred book into the army camp last night.

Thank GOD for a memorable birthday :)

Mars Bar Brownies

Both Renfred and Eliza's CGs are coming to our home for their meetings this weekend; one on Saturday and the other on Sunday.

So I thought, why not make them some brownies. Then the idea of putting Mars bars came to mind :)

I have not tasted them yet but by the look, the texture should be a bit gooey and by the smell, they should taste good. Hope the youths coming this weekend will like them :)

Cherry and Cranberry Scones

My second try on scones. The first try did not turn out as expected. This lot looked and tasted more like scones :)

Crispy on the outside and full of fruits inside. Yum Yum ;)
Here's the recipe if you are interested to give it a try:
2 cups flour
2 1/2 tsp baking powder
2 1/2 tbsp sugar
1/4 tsp salt
6 tbsp butter
1/2 cup dried cranberries
1/4 cup cherries
1 tsp grated lemon zest
1 large egg
5 tbsp cream
Preheat oven at 425 degrees C. Combine dry ingredients and rub in butter. Add lemon zest and fruits. Beat egg and cream, then add to flour mixture. Shape dough and bake for 12-14 mins.
