Barbados in the Caribbeans

Thank God for the opportunity to visit Barbados a few years back.
My husband hit the sales target and was awarded an incentive trip
to the Caribbeans. Below is the Villa we stayed in. We had a butler
cum chauffeur, a couple of housekeeping maids and a chef who
pampered us with delicious delicacies and various types of rum
cocktail during our week stay there.

We took a bus down town. Found this building and harbour
on our way to Mt Gay Rum factory.

Inside Mt Gay Rum factory. We had dinner in this restaurant
on one of the nights when the Villa staff had their day off.

We also visited the Atlantic Ocean during our stay
in Barbados and took quite a few pictures there.

The above three pictures of the Caribbean Sea
were taken behind the Villa we stayed in.

Siblings Rivalry

Dear parents, I hope after reading the below, you will feel encouraged:
Families with more than one child at home will face sibling rivalry. And many a times as parents we feel tired, discouraged, ill-equipped to handle these relational issues.
I was reminded this morning that one reason why sibling rivalry exists is to give us the opportunity to train and prepare our children for relationships as their grow into adulthood. When we teach our children, and they learn to settle their differences with each other, admit their faults and ask for forgiveness, they are learning methods of managing conflicts that will serve them in their marriage, families and at their work place. Sometimes we may feel that they are still not learning and things are back to square one. Take heart. They are getting it - even if they act like they are not. May God grant us the perserverance we need to train up our children.
O give us homes built firm upon the Saviour,
Where Christ is Head, and Counsellor and Guide;
Where ev'ry child is taught His love and favor
And gives his heart to Christ, the crucified:
How sweet to know that tho' his footsteps waver
His faithful Lord is walking by his side!

O give us homes with godly fathers, mothers,
Who always place their hope and trust in Him;
Whose tender patience turmoil never bothers,
Whose calm and courage trouble cannot dim;
A home where each finds joy in serving others,
And love still shines, tho' days be dark and grim.

O give us homes where Christ is Lord and Master,
The Bible read, the precious hymns still sung;
Where prayer comes first in peace or in disaster,
And praise is natural speech to ev'ry tongue;
Where mountains move before a faith that's vaster,
And Christ sufficient is for old and young.

O Lord, our God, our homes are Thine forever!
We trust to Thee their problems, toil, and care;
Their bonds of love no enemy can sever
If Thou art always Lord and Master there:
Be Thou the center of our least endeavor:
Be Thou our Guest, our hearts and homes to share.

Jesus Is Coming Again

Our CG started the study of Revelation a couple of months back.
As we go deeper into the book we look forward to the second coming of our Lord Jesus Christ :)

"Marvellous message we bring,
Glorious carol we sing
Wonderful word of the King
Jesus is coming again
Chorus:
Coming again, coming again
Maybe morning, maybe noon
Maybe evening and maybe soon
Coming again, coming again
O what a wonderful day it will be
Jesus is coming again

V2
Forest and flower exclaim,
Mountain and meadow the same
All earth and heaven proclaim
Jesus is coming again

V3
Standing before Him at last
Trial and trouble all past
Crowns at His feet we will cast
Jesus is coming again."

My Prayer

Baby Lobster Cloud

Can you figure out the 2 eyes, a big nose and small mouth?

While my husband was clearing my drawer today, he found the below prayer which I kept since 1987. May this prayer remind us of our mission on earth and may we be faithful to do what we have been assigned to do.

My Prayer

Let me not die before I’ve done for Thee
My earthly work, whatever it may be;
Call me not hence with mission unfulfilled;
Impress this truth upon me – that not one
Can do my portion that I leave undone;
For each one in Thy vineyard hath a spot
To labour on for life and weary not.
I long to be an instrument of Thine
To bid men at Thy table “come and dine”
To be a means one human soul to save
From dark terrors of a hopeless grave
Yet most I want a spirit of content
To work where’er You wish my labour spent
Whether at home, or in a stranger clime.
In days of joy or sorrow’s sterner time,
I want a spirit happy to lie still,
Or by Thy power to do Thy holy will.
Let me not die before I’ve done for Thee
My earthly work, whatever it may be.
